Downtempo band breathe is a collaborative project between Sean Walker (formerly of MOVEMENT) and Andrew Grant (formerly a recording/mix engineer of REC Studios). With their raw, emotive and cinematic sound, the duo creates music that effortlessly communicates vivid and deep feelings. Breathe beautifully exemplifies the power of collaboration between sound, visuals and people to evoke emotion and weave a narrative in a way that captivates and soothes.

Formed in Sydney in 2018, breathe.’s dark downtempo sound consists of exposed drums, prominent bass and smooth vocals, curating a seamless blend of Soul and Electronica music. The band has focused on collaboration to create and have subsequently worked with musicians/vocalists in London, Toronto and New York. Breathe subtly combine the production qualities of Massive Attack, Jamie xx and Shlohmo with the atmospheric ambiance of Grouper and Four Tet.

All of breathe’s music has been released through the label 'Silk Recordings' and has been accompanied by self-directed music clips. The group have cited the visual influences of Bill Viola & The Blaze as inspirations for creating beautiful, simplistic and dark music videos.

breathe.'s music has been featured in productions including ‘You” (Netflix), “What/If” (Netflix), “Couples Therapy” (Showtime), “Grown-Ish” (FX), “Raising Dion” (Netflix), “Elite” (Netflix) and "The Kept Woman" (Russia) and brand campaigns in the US, Australia, Russia and the EU.

Breathe are quickly and confidently establishing their own brand as expert curators of sounds and visuals that work to enthrall and invite their fans into a world that is mysterious, yet strangely familiar.
